An old building was going through some renovation and the 3D model of the building existing was required. The client provided photographic references and dimensions for the existing building. All the building elements were then created from scratch using those references. The textures were also created from the reference photos.
The Process
The reference photos were stitched in Photoshop and perspective cropped afterwards to get full front facing facades. Those images were later cleaned up to create the texture maps of them. The normal maps were generated from the diffuse map.
The base 3D model of the walls was created matching the reference photos and the dimensions. Doors and windows were added and the walls were texture-mapped properly. Differents details of the facade were extruded from the walls after that. The sculpture assets were added in the final model.
